Hi, my name is Sarah.

Sarah Stewart Holland if you're feeling official.

This is my family.

I made this simple to do list to further persuade my husband that this wasn't a major life change but a few minor tweaks.

In 2009, after five years in the big city, I convinced my husband, Nicholas,  that he wanted to leave his fancy D.C. attorney job and move to my hometown of Paducah, Kentucky.

Well, convinced is strong. I got pregnant and then said, "I'm going. You want to come?!?"

Almost five years later, we are now the proud parents of Griffin, age 6, Amos, age 4, and brand new baby Felix.

The word people most often use to describe me is passionate . The list of things I'm passionate about is long and varied and includes in no particular order: Kentucky, motherhood, politics, celebrating, reading, capturing the everyday, home birth, and the fact that chicken doesn't belong on pizza or in breakfast food.

(This is not a comprehensive list.)

I've been blogging  since 2003, but took it pro in 2011 when my dear friend Sarah asked if I wanted to start a blog. Both of us had law degrees we had no interest in actually using and creative sides that needed an outlet. Salt & Nectar was born and I added two more passions to the list: writing and social media.

bluegrass redhead was born out of a desire to share some of the more personal aspects of my journey as a mom, a writer, and a human being.

Here are a collections of random facts and embarrassing photos just for you.
